BOLLO LANE, ACTON- EALING STEEL FIXING COHORT
FREE 3-WEEK Training Programme which includes a 1-Week On-Site Work Placement from Monday 8th September – Friday 26th May, with the ENROLMENT Day scheduled for Wednesday 3rd September.
Program Overview –
Throughout the course, learners will be introduced to Level 1 Steel Fixing which involves working with, preparing, assembling and installing Steel Reinforcement gaining Theoretical and Practical (Hands-on) experience in core areas of Steel Fixing they can apply to their future careers.
Tasks and Responsibilities include but not limited to: Introduction to Reading and Interpreting Drawings, Assembling and Installing Steel Structures, Ensuring Safety and Awareness, Attention to Detail and Quality, Problem-Solving and Teamwork are all integral part of being a Steel Fixer.
Depending on the schedule, we aim to also incorporate additional NOCN Site Right courses, such as Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels and Vehicle Marshal to further enhance their qualifications and provide them with more skills to bring to a site.
We will also conduct a Level 1 in Health and Safety Awareness and Testing to help them achieve their CSCS Labourers' Card.
Eligibility Criteria –
The course is open to anyone aged 17+ and MUST BE COMMITED and AVAILABLE for the ENTIRIETY of the programme and ONLY INTERESTED IN STEEL FIXING.
Participation and Spaces are limited; therefore, lack of commitment will not be tolerated.
We are looking for motivated individuals who have the potential to succeed in this trade. Ideal Candidates should demonstrate:
- Good physical fitness and stamina
- A strong work ethic
- Reliability and good timekeeping
- The ability to work well in a team
- Basic Functional Skills (Maths + English)
- The ability to read and follow instructions
- Confidence using a tape measure to mark and measure accurately
- Good spatial awareness and attention to detail
- A willingness to learn and follow site safety procedures
