Free 2-Week Pre-Employment Training Programme scheduled for September. This is designed and mainly focussed on Level 1 entry into construction.

This is a great opportunity to start a career in a high-demand trade with long-term Job prospects.

It involves Introductory Training in Construction Trades for candidates in Steel Fixing, Formwork and Groundworks with additional Nationally recognised Qualifications within the 2-Weeks gaining practical experience in each area that they can apply to their future careers.

Eligibility Criteria –

The course is open to anyone aged between 16 to 24 and MUST BE COMMITED and AVAILABLE for the ENTIRIETY of the programme.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT THIS IS ONLY FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN CONSTRUCTION AND CAN COMMIT TO THE WHOLE 2 WEEKS and interested in the Skillset i.e. Trades mentioned.

Participation and Spaces are limited; therefore, lack of commitment will not be tolerated.

We are looking for motivated individuals who have the potential to succeed. Ideal Candidates should demonstrate but not limited to:

  • Good physical fitness and stamina
  • A strong work ethic
  • Reliability and good timekeeping
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Basic Functional Skills (Maths + English)
  • The ability to follow instructions
  • Good spatial awareness and attention to detail
  • A willingness to learn and follow site safety procedures

Candidates will be informed whether they were successful or not within 24 hours after the enrolment day.

Other Information

Program Overview –

Throughout the course, learners will be introduced to various Trades such as Steel Fixing, Formwork and Groundworks, gaining Theoretical and Practical (Hands-on) experience in core areas of each trade they can apply to their future careers.

Tasks and Responsibilities include but not limited to: Introduction to Reading and Interpreting Drawings, Assembling and Installing Steel Structures, Ensuring Safety and Awareness, Attention to Detail and Quality, Problem-Solving and Teamwork are all integral part.

We will conduct a Level 1 in Health and Safety Awareness and Testing to help them achieve their CSCS Labourers' Card.

Additionally, some NOCN Site Right courses, such as Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels and Vehicle Marshal, Working at Height and Harness Awareness, Edge Protection etc will be incorporated to further enhance their qualifications and provide them with more skills to bring to a site. 

JOB VACANCIES ARE NOT GUARANTEED; candidates will be given an opportunity to showcase their skills with the site team for an opportunity to get employment. At the end of the program, they will have the opportunity to discuss(in an interview) their career interests with a representative from OHOB, (we’ll also aim to bring in/engage them with other employers or agencies), with the aim of securing them a position. 

If no positions are immediately available, we will connect them with relevant contacts for further training opportunities or employers who may be better suited to their interests.
