Who are we?

ESF Apprenticeships was established in 2011 and we are recognised by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (now part of the Department for Education) as an approved apprenticeship training provider. Since then we have flourished, diversified and developed our offering through nationally recognised good practice. We’ve worked with just about every type of educational or community sports setting there is, and take pride in establishing close working relationships with our partner schools. With our sister company Real Training, founded by Educational Psychologists, we’ve been able to widen our offering of SEND based apprenticeships to align with the rise in SEND and needs of schools. The flexibility and experience of our team enables us to deliver high-quality training with high levels of achievement and success. Our achievement rates are routinely far above national averages.

What do we do / What is our impact / Who do we support?

We’re a specialist apprenticeship training provider, delivering tailored programmes to the education sector, specifically focused on growing SEND provision and PE support within schools. We don’t just support young school leavers but a diverse stratum of educational professionals, who want to have a positive impact on young people and progress their career in a direction they are proud of. Our impact is huge: we equip school staff with the knowledge, skills and confidence to cultivate inclusive practices, allowing children to flourish, particularly given the constantly evolving SEND landscape.  We are actively seeking support from strategic partners and education advocates to help spread the word about the gift of apprenticeships within education, so that more individuals can benefit from this essential workforce training.

Who do we want to connect with?

We seek to engage with several groups, with the objective of promoting the inherent value of apprenticeships; not just to school leavers but to a diverse range of educational professionals. A cornerstone of our efforts is establishing contact with pupils navigating the critical post-16 decision-making phase, who are considering an apprenticeship as an alternative option to 6th form or University, and are thinking about getting into teaching. We welcome the opportunity to connect with School/Trust leaders and Local Authorities to explore options for upskilling their existing staff and taking on new hires by utilising their apprenticeship levy. We’d like to present our offering and showcase how our wide range of apprenticeships can support their school workforce.

Why / What is our ask?

Our ask is two-fold: Recruitment: We are actively seeking ambitious individuals (post-16 upwards) to apply for our diverse range of education based apprenticeships. We offer onboarding support and specialised apprenticeship training with clear progression pathways.  Employer Collaboration: We seek to work with schools, local authorities and multi-academy trusts, who are keen to develop their workforce. We advertise schools’ apprenticeship vacancies and work with them to recruit the most suitable candidate. We also seek to work with leads of educational institutions and LAs to support the upskilling of existing staff to enhance their SEND provision.

How to get involved / Who to contact

As an apprenticeship training provider, we support apprentices from initial enquiry and onboarding, right the way through their learning journey with us until their end-point assessment (and beyond!). Our unique programmes are typically delivered online, with the opportunity for apprentices to collaborate with peers from other educational settings across England. Our tutors are made up of qualified teachers who previously worked as Heads, Deputy-Heads and SENCOs, and we incorporate specialist training from Educational Psychologists from our sister company Real Training across all our programmes. We’d love to hear from anyone considering a career in teaching or anyone who is already working in education. Contact Business Development Executive Hannah Clark: h.clark@esfapprenticeships.co.uk
